Second Chance Animal Rescue

Vineyard Haven, MA

Martha's Vineyard located, Second Chance Animal Rescue Inc. (SCAR), formerly known as Martha’s Vineyard Helping Homeless Animals, Inc. (MVHHA) is a no-kill, cage-free, non-profit shelter and rescue. Our purpose is to rescue homeless animals and provide for their medical, physical, and emotional needs while preparing them for and finding them a loving, caring and permanent home. Located in Oak Bluffs, we have served Martha’s Vineyard for more than ten (10) years. We are a fully licensed and inspected isolation facility by the MA Department of Agriculture. The ISO unit was built and approved in May 2014. Since May 2014, SCAR has been actively rescuing out of states, dogs, puppies, cats and kittens from high kill shelters. Second Chance Animal Rescue has made its purpose to serve animals who are homeless and find them a family who would love and care for them. We have worked with high kill shelters located in New York, Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Arkansas, Alabama and Puerto Rico. All of these shelters have contacted us for their help in finding loving families for the homeless animals. Receiving the food for the animals would help us tremendously by us utilizing the funds for our spay and medical needs. We'd be able to reach out to help save more lives
