About We help dogs in need/ distress in West Dallas get a second chance for the life & love they deserve. Angie is called the “fairy dogmother” of West Dallas. I have volunteered for Angie’s Friends for two years. When I adopted my pup Lexi from Angie, I could see that the need for volunteers was dire, so I started getting involved. I was instantly hooked. It’s so gratifying when we finally find these sad pups their forever families. Mission To provide food, shelter, and medical attention, to dogs in economically depressed areas of Dallas, while advocating for spay, neuter. Company Overview Angie’s Friends is a 501(c)3 non-profit animal welfare organization established in 2008 for the sole purpose of aiding neglected and abused dogs in economically depressed neighborhoods of Dallas. The organization is named for, and the grassroots work is done by, Angie Manriquez, who is known throughout the community as “The Fairy Dogmother of Dallas”. Even though Angie’s Friends was not formed until 2008, Angie has been carrying on her mission since 1999. Description Three of Angie’s friends formed “Angie’s Friends” to facilitate her critical efforts, work she has been doing for over a decade in many neighborhoods, often in dangerous West Dallas. Angie spends the majority of every day going house to house to feed, water, medicate, provide shelter for, and pat the heads of dogs that have extremely low quality of life, living on short chains in neglectful and abusive situations, never feeling wanted.
