BABR has been helping Boxers find new homes in Northern California since 1984. It is due to the dedication of our purely volunteer staff and foster homes that we are able to continue the battle to educate our communities on the humane care of animals. These volunteers come to us with not only knowledge of dogs and the Boxer breed itself, but most importantly a lot of unconditional love. Every year hundreds of Boxers come through our doors. Some from shelters, others are surrendered to us directly by their owners. And BABR is there … providing a warm bed, nutritious food, veterinary care and a gentle touch for these Boxers in transition. Each year we spend approximately $3,000 on ads, $25,000 on veterinary bills, $3,000 on food and $2,000 on phone bills. And we are not counting the cost of gas, boarding, toys, kennel upgrades, other incidentals, or the hundreds of volunteer hours that were required to save these splendid animals. We are also associated with a wonderful trainer named David – who provides us with great tips on teaching Boxers how to behave properly in our Training Boxers Section – and you can engage his services to work with your Boxer if they need to learn a few new tricks.
