In 2009 they sanctioned their 40 ac ranch as Black Canyon Animal Sanctuary where stray or abandoned animals can live safely until permanent homes can be found. BCAS is an unconventional animal shelter where dogs are not kenneled but live in a 2500 sf facility with large fenced play yards and the dogs are separated into playgroups.
