The Brown County Humane Society has been in place for over 30 years. At first, pets were sheltered in foster homes. In 2005, we purchased our current shelter building. Our main focus is to provide shelter and medical care for the stray cats & dogs that are found in Brown County. When healthy, we facilitate adoptions of the pets to their new families. We also educate the public on the importance of spaying & neutering pets and the responsibilities of pet ownership. The BCHS is entirely staffed 100% by volunteers.
