Kids to the Rescue(named that because my 5 adopted children with special needs help with rescuing dogs) got started after working with 2 other rescue groups and realizing the need to help shelters directly, with dogs and financially, was a greater need. Our biggest goal is to provide education to the general public about the reality of dog rescue-how many dogs are brought in, how many and how euthanized, how poor and what conditions some shelters are in, and the horrible things that are done to dogs. At these events we get donations for bandanas, dog beds, etc that my kids help make. We also foster dogs directly for shelters and the whole adoption fee goes back to them so they can help more dogs. The shelters we are working with have been so appreciative of our help with dogs and financial help to keep them up and running. With a site to list dogs, we will courtesy list pups so not only the dogs in foster but the dogs in shelters will have greater exposure and chances of getting adopted.
