The mission of Tri-State Poodle Club is to promote and protect Poodles in the Iowa/Wisconsin/Illinois Tri-State area through education, community, performance, and rescue/rehoming.
The ARL provides shelter and care for hundreds of ‘special needs’ pets every year. These ‘special needs’ can be anything from a pet that will need on-going medication, have birth defects, were abused and need a very patient home, or are older and have geriatric needs. The Animal Rescue League of Iowa is the state’s largest shelter and the only Des Moines area shelter that never turns away an animal in need.

We are an animal shelter that cares for approximately 1,000 animals per year. We work with Mahaska County and the City of Oskaloosa, IA to provide animal control services and we also work through the Mahaska Humane Society to educate and promote responsible pet ownership as well as low cost spay/neuter services for low income pet owners.

The Vernon County Humane Society (VCHS) is a not-for-profit humane society based in Viroqua, Wisconsin, the county seat of government in Vernon County. We are in the southwest area of the state, and one edge of our county borders the Mississippi River. This is a largely rural, hilly region that is sparsely populated. Residents have below-average incomes. VCHS runs a no-kill closed-door animal shelter, the Vernon County Humane Society Animal Shelter. We are private, local, and independent. We do not euthanize animals except for serious health or temperament reasons. We can occasionally accept owner-surrendered animals when we have available space; please call for more information.
