Closer to Home Animal Advocates (CTHAA) is a group of caring individuals who work to find forever homes for Norwegian Elkhounds, Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, and sometimes other breeds as our hearts lead us. We are dedicated to placing dogs that have been abandoned, neglected, or whose present homes cannot keep them any longer. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, including rabies, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative medication. CTHAA strives to find the best match between the dog and the new forever home. Our goal is to place each dog into a permanent home where it will become a loved and cared for member of the household. We do not have a shelter facility. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes.

Alaskan Malamute Rescue is a non-profit rescue, adoption and education organization for the Alaskan Malamute and malamute owners. We are an affiliate of the Alaskan Malamute Assistance League (AMAL), an independent U.S. national Alaskan Malamute rescue organization. Our organization is dedicated to the protection of all Alaskan Malamutes. It consists of a network of people, all volunteers, who love this breed and who are committed to ensuring that any Malamute which has become homeless can find a good home. We provide foster homes for Alaskan Malamutes, help people who wish to own a good dog, and provide Malamutes with good homes.

We are an Arctic breed rescue that specializes in Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, Alaskan Klee Kai’s, American Eskimos, and Samoyeds. We take in homeless, abused, abandoned and shelter dogs, rehabilitate them and find them new forever homes. Our rescue is run out of the private residences of the founders and fosters. We believe heavily in spay/neuter programs and in educating the public about the Arctic breeds in the hopes that less of them will end up abandoned in kill shelters.

WAMAL was formed in 1998 by Cindy Neely to help with Malamute Rescue in the greater Northwest area to cover rescue needs outside of the scope of Seattle Purebred Dog Rescue. Since that time we have rescued on average about 100 Malamutes a year and have rescued many hundreds to date. While none of this would have originally happened without a small few, it’s the numerous (but sometimes still too few) volunteers that make rescue happen.
