CKBR was formed in 1999 by a group of Boxer dog loving people. We spend a great deal of time, money and energy saving individual Boxer dogs from certain death in Kentucky shelters and dog pounds. CKBR volunteers take in abandoned and unwanted Boxers and foster them in their homes while helping the dog become adoptable. All rescue dogs are given a thorough medical exam and are vaccinated, heartworm tested, microchipped and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. The dogs are crate and house trained and taught basic obedience commands while in care. All dogs are tested for compatibility with other dogs, cats and children. While there is never a guarantee, we try to adopt only those dogs with sound temperaments.
