Gulf South Golden Retriever Rescue, Inc. (GSGRR) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization run by a small group of volunteers. ?We are home based in the Greater New Orleans, LA area. ?We take in purebred Golden Retrievers and Golden Retriever mixes from public shelters and accept owner-relinquished Goldens from the Gulf Coastal states (LA, MS, AL, FL). ?We provide our dogs with veterinary care including spaying or neutering as necessary, evaluate their temperament, and socialize them by having them live with foster families. Then the dogs are matched with loving, carefully selected adoptive homes. We place our dogs in adoptive homes in the Gulf South.

We are dedicated to rescuing dogs left homeless for whatever reason dogs in public shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to pet overpopulation, dogs given up by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect.

All volunteer dog rescue where the direct care of the dogs in the form of medical care, food, training, comfort, etc. is paramount   All of our dogs are in foster care where we can provide nurturing environments and evaluate each dog’s needs for their forever homes.
