Very Nice Off-Leash Dog Park. This is an excellent park. The park is a large fenced-in area with a 2-gate entry system to control runaways and ‘Hairy Houdinies.’ The land is owned by the City of Akron, but is operated by BARC (Better Akron Recreation for Canines). BARC’s website is http://akrondogpark.org/. The website is very informative, and I suggest that you check it out before visiting the park (especially the section on rules.) I use this park often, and I meet some of the nicest people. My only complaint is that not everyone follows the rule of cleaning up after their own dog. I know I do. Please come and visit, but make sure that you and your pooch only leave footprints/paw prints and nothing ‘else’.Location: 499 Memorial Parkway. Directions: From Akron take Tallmadge Road west. Tallmadge becomes Memorial Parkway.

West of State Rd in old North Hampton. Directions: Coming from State RD. Turn West onto W. Bath Road, go west for 1.4 miles to Keyser Park allotment. Keyser Park sign will be on the right (north) side of the road. Turn North onto Keyser Parkway; go northeast 1/4 mile – Park Entrance is on the left (west) side of the road. (IF you come to a Stop sign, you’ve passed Keyser Park entrance). Once inside Keyser Park, bear Left at the Y (away from the baseball/soccer fields). On the West side of the parking lot …IS a sign marked DOG PARK … UP the black topped path is the dog park.

Off-leash with open fields and lots of wide trails This is a really nice park with over 12 miles of wide trails. They weave through the woods and most circle back to where you started. There are also streams for swimming. There’s an open area about the size of a football field. 2 dogs per person are permitted off leash throughout the entire park if they are under the control of the handler at all times. Horses are also allowed. Location: Fern Hollow Rd. Sewickley Heights, PA. Directions: From Rt. 65, turn into the Quaker Valley Shopping Plaza. Turn right on Beaver Rd. Turn left at the first stop sign onto Big Sewickley Creek Rd. 2 miles turn right on Fern Hollow Rd. Park is 1/2 mile on left.

At the end of the ramp go north on Route 91, which will dead end. At the dead end, turn east and go about 1/2 mile to a large soccer ball sign on the right. This is the entrance to the dog park!

Directions: Take Rt. 2 to the Fairport Harbor/Richmond Street exit and go north to the light at the Richmond Street/Rt. 283 intersection. Proceed north (straight) for about 1/4 mile to High Street. Follow High Street to Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park entrance.

Gravel-covered lot . Trees, water fountain with a human-sized spout and a fountain at the right height for pups, benches, waste stations. Location: located in South Tremont at Clark Field. Directions: From Downtown via Tremont, follow the 90/71 Innerbelt Bridge to the Abbey Road / West 14th Street exit. Follow West 14th to the third light and turn left on Starkweather Avenue. Follow Starkweather until it end at West 7th Street. Turn right onto West 7th and go thorough the stop sign at the 490 exit ramp continuing down the hill. At the foot of the hill turn right. Follow the signs for CLARK FIELD. The parking lot will be about 200 yards ahead on the right and the dog park is located left of center.

Location: At the city park named – ‘Memorial Park’ or nicknamed ‘Jump Park’ on Homestead Street.Directions: From the town square travel north on Court Street. At the intersection of Court and Homestead streets (stoplight there…also a landmark is the Red Cross building) turn right onto Homestead. Follow Homestead until you come to a city park entrance on your left hand side. There is a sign that reads ‘Medina Dog Park’. Please read and follow the rules as posted.
