Canoe Beach has a small area that is dog friendly to the far right of the public beach area. It is partially fenced and includes some shaded, grassy areas, as well as a section of gravel beach.

This beach has various resorts, cabins, and campsites that back onto it, most of which are dog friendly.

Officially the beach is on-leash (like all Tofino beaches) but as you will notice most local dogs are friendly and off leash.

French Beach on Vancouver Island in beautiful British Columbia will make doggie dreams come true. The hard-packed sand is ideal for a top speed run with a dip or two in the Juan de Fuca Strait. A towering rock formation right on the beach is the perfect place to play hide and seek with a tennis ball. And the abundance of driftwood makes a perfect throw stick easy to find. Even the doggie bags are top notch ? compliments of several nearby restaurants.

Cherry Beach, also known as Clarke Beach, is a 10.9 acre off-leash area on Lake Ontario.

Go down lakeview road in Milo, Maine until you get to Mill street on the left. You will see the boat launch on your left, if you drive just a little further, park on the right and you and your dog can enjoy some swimming.

This 3-mile beach is long and shallow with calm waters that make it great for smaller kids. There’s tide pooling neaby, and your pet is welcome to join you on-leash except from 9am-6pm in summer.

Locals love to bring their dogs to play at this rocky, pet-friendly beach. Kittery resident parking only. Dogs are welcome between the hours of 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM from June 15th through September 10th.

Willard Beach is a public beach less than 5 minutes from Portland. Summer months dogs can run off leash (under voice control) from 7am – 9am. Off season dog are welcome anytime. Between May 1 and September 30, dogs are not allowed except between the hours of 7:00 am and 9:00 am, and 7 pm and 9:00 pm. Dogs are allowed Sept. 30 to May 1st, anytime. Great sandy beach and inviting (cold) water for those swimmers. Dogs love to play and romp on this scenic beach!

Spring Point is an off-leash beach located at Fort Rd and Slocum Dr. Be aware that the city may be reducing the off-leash area.

Your pet is welcome to join you as you enjoy this beautiful white sand beach with dunes and sea walls, as long as they remain on-leash. Pets not permitted from 8am to 6pm in peak season.

Pets love to join you for an on-leash stroll along this 2.5 mile Wells beach. April 1 through June 15 – ON A LEASH and under charge of a responsible person. Please keep dogs away from Piping Plover nests. June 16 through September 15 – OFF BEACH from 8:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. ON BEACH from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

This lovely York beach is a great place to spend the day. Your pet is welcome to join you on-leash in the off-season, or before 8am or after 6pm in the peak months.

Visitors may park in the small parking area on Sandy Lane. From there, it is only a short walk down a well-marked, maintained wooden trail to Gilmore Pond. While there is not techically a beach area, Gilmore Pond has very clear shallow water and a wonderful sand bottom that will make you think you are in the tropics. You can swim at your own risk but there are no lifeguards on duty. Gilmore Pond has the reputation of being the party/dog beach in town since on a hot Saturday afternoon its very typical to find a large crowd of people drinking on floats in the water. This is illegal and not encouraged since it is a town beach. However, week days tend to be mild in nature and people with dogs flock here.

There is approximately a 1 1/4 stretch of beach in Rye New Hampshire. In the middle of that stretch along the coast is a parking lot. The State beach is actually directly in front of that parking lot and/or from house on the left to house on the right. Beaches on either side of that tiny State beach are town beaches. You could almost throw a softball from one end of the State beach to the other. Dogs are not allowed on the State beach. To get around that law (if you want to walk the entire length of the beach) just walk around the beach in the parking lot. The hours for dogs allowed on the beach Memorial Day to Labor Day are before 9:00 am and after 7:00 pm. Please read sign posted at all entrances. After and before those times anytime time of the day or night you can walk your dog. It’s a nice long walk from one end to the other. You can have your dog off leash which most are. However, you must have you dog under your control. They will hand out tickets. One man’s dog was running around having fun and ran across someone’s blanket and he was given a ticket for not having dog under control. This is unusual but be aware. During the summer if you show up 5 mins early or leave 5 mins late and they catch you, you will get a ticket. Other than that it is a great place to take your dog. It is like one giant dog park. But Please, please clean up after you dog. People think one little pile of dog pooh won’t hurt. I helped clean the beach one day and in just a small area we picked up 40 pounds of dog pooh. When it’s washed to sea it gives parasites to the seals which kills them. There are bags available at each entrance to the beach and there are several entrances. Have fun!
