A.C.T. (Animal Control Team) of Dubois County was organized to fight animal cruelty, neglect, abuse, and find adoptive homes for abandoned and unwanted pets. ACCT Philly manages the city’s animal shelter facility in North Philadelphia handling nearly 28,000 animals, from dogs and cats, to small animals, reptiles, birds and wildlife, annually. ACCT Philly is open each and every day of the year for pet adoptions.
Animal Control is responsible for the enforcement of the city’s animal control ordinances and control, care and regulation of animals. Primary functions are to safeguard the public and to ensure responsible supervision and humane treatment for all animals within the city’s jurisdiction.
