Feline Rescue is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in northern Sonoma County where there is a high percentage of economically disadvantaged residents. Pet cats, often not spayed or neutered, are abandoned with alarming frequency due, in growing part, to the declining economy and skyrocketing foreclosures and evictions. We also have a burgeoning number of ?roaming? feral or semi-feral cats, also not spayed or neutered. Our goal is to help control the feral colonies and help get adoptable cats and kittens in their forever homes. There are absolutely no institutional services available for cats in need in our area. There is no local shelter, no contract with Sonoma County for cats, and no local city services for injured or ill cats. We are a ?shelter without walls? and ?animal control with a heart,? operating with a tiny budget and no paid staff or administrative overhead.
