Sammie’s Friends was created in 2004 in order to provide medical care for the shelter animals that were being euthanized because of illness or injuries. We have successfully reduced the euthanasia rate in our county from 68% to less than 1%. We did this by providing medical care and by marketing our available animals. We are a staff of 11 animal lovers and have well over 100 volunteers that help run our shelter.
