The OTIS Foundation Inc. is an animal protection and rescue organization that aims to provide veterinary care and homes to stray animals. Our focus is on stray animals who are in immediate need of veterinary care (ie. hit by car, etc.). Unlike county shelters, we focus much of our attention on networking stray animals in order to find possible owners. If an owner is not found, we house the animals and put them up for adoption. We do not have a facility, so we house all of our animals through temporary foster homes until they are adopted and we do not euthanize in order to make more room. Once an animal becomes property of the OTIS Foundation Inc. after a 72 hour holding period, we provide all veterinary care (ie. vaccinations, spays, neuters, etc.). Although we are not officially recognized as a tax-exempt nonprofit organization by the IRS, we operate solely out-of-pocket and through donations. We also work closely with our local police departments and county shelter in order to help the animals who need us the most.
