Dames?Saving Danes Rescue was founded in December 2014 by a group of dedicated Dane-loving and savvy dames and experienced rescuers. We are a Great Dane breed-specific, foster-based rescue in the Nation?s capital and surrounding area who have dedicated ourselves to helping abandoned, abused and surrendered Great Danes find well suited forever homes. We pride ourselves on being a transparent, accountable and professionally run non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing Great Danes at risk in the Eastern Ontario area. We are hitting the ground running with an already great team of committed volunteers, foster homes and local veterinarians helping us to achieve our goals. All of our rescue Danes are provided with temporary foster home care until we find them well-suited and carefully screened forever homes. Along with rescue, we aim to educate by providing Dane-specific resources and bringing awareness to responsible pet ownership and the importance of understanding the Great Dane breed and its unique requirements and needs. Rescue is about saving lives, and we will do what it takes to do rescue right, because too many lives are lost due to a lack of public awareness and resources. We want to be part of the solution and will strive to make a difference one Dane at a time.

Magic Great Danes specializes exclusively in Great Danes. We have veterinarians and animal behaviorists who have been working with this breed for more than 25 years. All of our rescue Great Danes live in private homes where their personalities can be professionally evaluated. They are housebroken and have received basic obedience classes. All dogs are vet-checked, spay/neutered and microchipped

Our mission is to rescue all Danes who are not wanted, can no longer be kept for various reasons, or are in undesirable situations, and place them in loving caring homes where they can truly be a part of the family.
