Boarding at Alaska Dog Wash Resort is fantastic fun for dogs! We realize no dog wants to be caged up or put in a run all day, so we provide a different kind of boarding experience. Here, dogs really get to be dogs. They get to play, run, jump and sniff all day long. We have an indoor play area for cold or wet days, and three outside play areas for sunny days. Your pup will make lots of friends while you are away! This kind of boarding lets you go on vacation without worrying about your furry friend. If your dog likes people, but does not do well with other dogs, we can arrange to have your dog kept separate from the play group.

Professiol retriever trainers, Baron Rea and Alicia Fields ,own and operate Wetland Retrievers located just outside Palmer, Alaska. Baron has over 20 years experience in training and handling retrievers. He has many hunt trial passes and qualifying field trial placements. Baron specializes in understanding dog psychology and therefore has a high success rate in fixing unwanted canine behavioral issues. He is one of the few trainers in the state of Alaska who has this experience. Currently, Baron and Alicia offer boarding and training services. Baron is the lead trainer along with a handful of assistants that help with the field setups. Alicia is the primary care giver and helps most with the dogs in boarding. His special interests include orthopedics, veterinary acupuncture and related holistic medicine. He also volunteers at the Bird Treatment and Learning Center, caring for numerous types of wild, injured birds. Todd and his wife enjoy camping, fishing, and Aikido. They have one dog, Belle, and house some of the rehabilitating raptors from Bird TLC.

Fabulous trails go all around the lake, some wide open fields, but trails mostly meander through the woods, with many small trails for dogs to circle about on leading to water’s edge and such. Location: Bragaw Street between Tudor and University Drive. Directions: West on Tudor if coming from Seward HWY. Turn left on Bragaw. Parking available across from UAA dorms, or behind Ak Native Hospital on weekends.
Open waste ground area in Sports Park. Location: Anchorage Sports Park, Timberlane & Klatt Road. Directions: From Seward Highway take O’Malley exit. Go west on O’Malley to C Street light; left on C. C turns into Klatt after curve. In winter, only west gate is open further down Klatt from Timberlane.
