The Plainfield Animal Control Department is a municipal Animal Shelter( Dog Pound). The shelter is small and on average, we process 100 dogs per year. Our average adoption rate is well over 90%. The Animal Control Officer and the Assistant Animal Control Officers are responsible for enforcing all Connecticut animal control laws. We offer a yearly rabies clinic sponsored by the Connecticut Municipal Animal Control Officer’s Association, Plainfield Vet Hospital and the Plainfield Town Clerk. Our primary goals are to educate the public, enforce all animal related laws, reunite lost pets with their owners, find loving homes for the dogs that are not claimed buy their owners or given up by their owners and to maintain a clean and healthy environment at the shelter.

Its Just a very small park, it was made for kids, there is a slide, a VERY tiny jungle gym and 2 little bouncer things, but anyways most people on our street just let the dogs loose, but it’s entirely gated in and great for dogs 🙂

The AmericInn Lodge & Suites in Griswold will allow dogs of any size in certain pet-friendly rooms with an additional $40 (+tax) pet fee. Please call before making a reservation.
This hotel does allow pets with no weight restrictions. The fee is $15.00 per pet per night.
