Animal Services is dedicated to becoming a premier provider of animal care and control services in our community. Our professional staff responds to more than 6,000 calls for service and shelters nearly 2,000 animals each year. We are dedicated to managing our domestic and wild animal population in a manner that provides a safe and healthy environment for both animals and people.
The City of DeSoto employs two full-time and one part-time animal control officers who are responsible for patrolling the city and answering all animal-related complaints. During Daylight Savings Time, animal control officers run split shift so they can be available between the hours of 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.

There are approximately sixty Synbiotics/ICG freezing centers in the world. These freezing centers collect, process and preserve canine semen. Frozen semen is stored long-term at Synbiotics in San Diego, California. Dr. Freeman also trains veterinarians in canine semen freezing techniques for Synbiotics/ICG.
