Great Falls Animal Hospital was started in 1963 as a one-veterinarian clinic operated by Dr. Edward Michelitch. “Doc” Michelitch had a deep love for animals and a vision of a veterinary hospital that treats pets with the same level of medical care and attention given to human patients. Unlike human hospitals, animal hospitals are not required to be accredited. The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) evaluated us on approximately 900 standards of veterinary excellence in order to become accredited. AAHA-accredited hospitals are recognized among the finest in the industry, and are consistently at the forefront of advanced veterinary medicine. The Standards of Accreditation are continuously reviewed and updated to keep our practice on the cutting edge of veterinary excellence. The standards address patient care and pain management, surgery, pharmacy, laboratory, exam facilities, medical records, cleanliness, emergency services, dental care, diagnostic imaging, anesthesiology, and continuing education. Eye Care for Animals is available to assist you and your veterinarian with treatment of your pet’s eyes. While you may contact us by phone, we encourage your veterinarian to use our referral form. This will provide a record of your pet’s medical history and any previous treatments. You may then fax, mail, or hand deliver it to the Eye Care for Animals practice of your next appointment.
