There is a separate area for kids to play on the playground. There is a basketball court and lots of grassy areas. The dog park is a huge area of open grass with lots of trees for the dogs to run. The park is surrounded by a walking path and there are several benches in the shade of huge trees to sit and watch the puppies. There is a hose and pools for washing and playing. Poopy bags and cans provided. Double gated so there are no accidental escapes. Dogs of all sizes are together. Dog Park and Playground. Though technically not a Dog Park, dogs are permitted at the south end of the park, and many neighborhood dogs go there every day to meet and play. Park staff does monitor the dogs’ activity, and will enforce the leash law if the situation looks dangerous to them. The City of Aventura is currently reviewing plans for a dog park. Interested residents should contact the City’s Parks and Recreation Department to voice their opinions and/or get more information.
