Dr. Shanthi Ramachandran holds a Bachelor’s degree in biology and neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania, graduating cum laude, as well as a Master’s degree in Physiology and Biostatistics from Georgetown University. Dr. Villar was born in Spain but considers himself a Virginia native, having lived most of his life in Charlottesville. Early on he developed a keen interest in animals, having been in their constant company as a child. His family owned a small farm that at one time or another raised pet horses, cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs, cats, chickens, ducks and let’s not forget his prize winning donkey, Mikey.Dr. Villar pursued his Bachelor’s at the University of Virginia.

Dr. Urbanz attended Auburn University where she received a degree in both Zoology and Veterinary Medicine. She then completed a fellowship at the Scott-Ritchey Research Center in veterinary medical studies. Dr. Urbanz completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at University of Minnesota. Dr. Urbanz joined the residency program at Eye Care for Animals in 1999 and became a board certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists in 2002.

Tyler’s Place Macon Dog Park is a wonderful place to bring your dogs for a fun-filled afternoon. Open from sunrise to sunset, this dog park contains a fenced, well-maintained off leash place for your pet to play. There is a small dog area as well as a larger dog area both with shaded trees, benches and water available. There is also a babbling stream that runs through the center of the park for the dogs to cool off and play in.
The 1842 Inn is pet friendly. They welcome up to two dogs under 25 lbs. for a fee of $50/night per pet. Please note that dogs cannot be left in the room unattended.
River View Hotel And Ballroom is pet friendly. They welcome up to one pet (under 15 lbs) for an additional fee of $100 per month.
Americas Best Value Inn is pet friendly. They welcome up to two pets (of any size) for an additional fee of $7 per pet per night.
Days Inn Macon allows up to two dogs (40 lbs or less) per guest room for an additional fee of $10 per pet per night. Larger dogs may be permitted with prior management approval.
Quality Inn Byron is pet friendly. They have a pet fee of $10 per night per room. They allow multiple pets of any size.
Super 8 Byron South Macon Area allows one or two dogs under 25 pounds for a fee of $10 per pet per night Cats are not allowed.
Econo Lodge Byron allows a maximum of 2 dogs (under 20 lbs.) in each guest room for a nightly fee of $8/each.
