We let your pets roam freely in our cozy home and securely fenced yards and play, socialize and excersice with other friendly dogs. Your lucky pet also gets 24/7 HUMAN supervision and attention. We have an onsite grooming salon for your convenience as well. We are licensed, insured and certified in animal CPR/first aid. Professiol retriever trainers, Baron Rea and Alicia Fields ,own and operate Wetland Retrievers located just outside Palmer, Alaska. Baron has over 20 years experience in training and handling retrievers. He has many hunt trial passes and qualifying field trial placements. Baron specializes in understanding dog psychology and therefore has a high success rate in fixing unwanted canine behavioral issues. He is one of the few trainers in the state of Alaska who has this experience. Currently, Baron and Alicia offer boarding and training services. Baron is the lead trainer along with a handful of assistants that help with the field setups. Alicia is the primary care giver and helps most with the dogs in boarding. Here, dogs really get to be dogs. They get to play, run, jump and sniff all day long. We have an indoor play area for cold or wet days, and three outside play areas for sunny days. Your pup will make lots of friends while you are away! This kind of boarding lets you go on vacation without worrying about your furry friend. If your dog likes people, but does not do well with other dogs, we can arrange to have your dog kept separate from the play group.

All our dogs taught us valuable lessons in dog behaviors. Max was an excellent athlete and gorgeous swimmer, and showed us most dogs love going to training classes and not all dogs like the dog park. Rip taught us dogs love mental stimulation, and that you can counter condition for unwanted behaviors with a clicker. Lexi taught us that if you are going to bring an energetic dog into your home, it is your responsibility to provide that dog with a positive outlet for their energy!
Long House Alaskan Hotel allows two dogs of any size for a fee of $10/night each plus tax.
Puffin Inn Of Anchorage is pet friendly! Pets of any size are allowed for $10 per pet per night plus a $100 refundable deposit. Please note that pets are not allowed in Jacuzzi rooms.
