There is a dog beach at First Landing State Park that is dog-friendly year round, during daylight hours. There is also dog-friendly camping in short walking distance of the beach.
Your pet is welcome to join you at the beach on-leash anytime before Memorial Day weekend and after Labor Day. During the summer season, your pup can still enjoy beach time before 10:00 am or after 6:00 pm at the north end of Virginia Beach above 42nd Street or at the south end in the Sandbridge area. Just keep your dog on a leash at all times and clean up after your pet.
