Dr. Shanthi Ramachandran holds a Bachelor’s degree in biology and neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania, graduating cum laude, as well as a Master’s degree in Physiology and Biostatistics from Georgetown University. Dr. Villar was born in Spain but considers himself a Virginia native, having lived most of his life in Charlottesville. Early on he developed a keen interest in animals, having been in their constant company as a child. His family owned a small farm that at one time or another raised pet horses, cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs, cats, chickens, ducks and let’s not forget his prize winning donkey, Mikey.Dr. Villar pursued his Bachelor’s at the University of Virginia.

Dr. Urbanz attended Auburn University where she received a degree in both Zoology and Veterinary Medicine. She then completed a fellowship at the Scott-Ritchey Research Center in veterinary medical studies. Dr. Urbanz completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at University of Minnesota. Dr. Urbanz joined the residency program at Eye Care for Animals in 1999 and became a board certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists in 2002.

Overnight Boarding
After our daycare guests go home for the day, our overnight guests are ready to go out for additional play sessions. Before the evening play session, dinner is served! We provide tasty, high quality chicken and rice-based diets from Beaver Dam pet food. Beaver Dam food is a chicken and pork-based diet with no by-products, no corn, wheat or gluten, and no artificial colors or flavors. We can also accommodate dogs with special diets such as frozen, raw, or canned.
Preparing Food
When bringing food from home, we require all food to be individually packaged in Ziploc bags for each feeding. We typically feed twice a day, but a third (lunch time) feeding can be added at no additional charge. Pre-bagging food ensures that every dog staying with us gets the correct food and correct amount. All food is kept in individual air-tight locking bins. For this reason, we cannot accept open bags of kibble.
Sleeping Accommodations
All of our guests are settled in for bed around 9:00pm. All dogs are provided with thick, cushioned bedding.
Each suite has a thick, cushioned bed to ensure our guests have a wonderful night’s sleep. Our 24-hour on site staff are always available for any dogs with special needs during their sleep over. Dogs are never alone in the facility.
Additional Play Sessions
Overnight guests have an additional evening play session from approx. 7:00pm – 8:30pm, and an additional morning play session from 5:00am to 6:30am followed by a nutritious breakfast!
Requirements
All of our overnight guests are screened according to the daycare process. All sleepover guests must attend and successfully pass their first overnight trial day of daycare prior to staying for overnight services. Occasionally a dog may require more than one day to become acquainted with other dogs and our staff. If this occurs, please keep in mind that we only want your furry friend to be as comfortable as possible to ensure they enjoy a relaxed and worry free stay. Our overnight guests play in the same groups as the daycare dogs and enjoy an additional two play sessions. Special arrangements in care are taken with our geriatric, special needs dogs, and puppies. You are welcome to pre-fill out the boarding forms and bring them in with you at the time of your reservation.
Animal Care Center is a full-service veterinary medical facility, located in Joppa, MD. The professional and courteous staff at Animal Care Center seeks to provide the best possible medical care, surgical care and dental care for their highly-valued patients.
(NOTE: Not a leash free park. Dogs must be on leashes here. We do not normally mention dog parks that require leashes, but we have been told that this is the most popular dog park in the area.) 456.43-acre land. Location: Falls Rd. and Lake Ave. Directions: Take I-83 (Jones Falls Expressway to Northern Parkway (East) Exit. Get into the left lane and turn left (North) at the first intersection, which is Falls Road. You will pass two traffic lights in close proximity at Mt. Washington, then encounter another about a mile further up where Lake Avenue runs into Falls Road. Lake Falls shopping center will be on your left. About a block past the light, just before the bridge, turn right into the Light Rail parking lot. Bear to your right and enter R E Lee Park. When you find a place to park your car, walk on down toward the bridge crossing the Jones Falls at the dam.
Super 8 Motel Joppa allows up to two dogs of any size per guest room for an additional fee of $10 per pet per night.

Radisson Hotel At Cross Keys Baltimore allow up to two dogs under 25 lbs for a fee of $25 per pet per stay.
Best Western Invitation Inn allows pets of any size with a $15 refundable deposit.
Inn At the Colonnade Baltimore – A Doubletree by Hilton is pet friendly. They have a pet fee of $100 per stay per pet. They allow multiple pets up to 75 lbs.
Rodeway Inn and Suites allows dogs (20 lbs or less) in guest room for an additional fee of $10 per pet per night. There is no specified limit of the number of dogs per guest room.
