McArthur Animal Hospital

We have one full-time vet, Dr. Paul Szluha (we just call him Dr. Paul). Upon graduation from vet school in 1996, Dr. Paul worked for Dr. McArthur, aka “Mickey.” He then worked for several years at the Oak Ridge Animal Shelter. In 2006, Dr. Paul and his wife, Dr. Sarah opened Middlebrook Animal Clinic, and then in 2007 they purchased McArthur Animal Hospital. Dr. Sarah works exclusively at Middlebrook, while Dr. Paul spends his time here at McArthur. They have one child, 3 cats, and a dog. Dr. Lynn Straka (Dr. Lynn) joined us in July 2013 and works Monday, Wednesday, and one Friday per month. She moved here 4 years ago when her husband, Brian, took a job at Great Smokey Mountain National Park. She received her DVM from Ohio State in 1995 and considers herself a “true Buckeye.” In her spare time she enjoys making jewelry and tending to her 2 demanding cats. Dr. Jill Illick (Dr. Jill) is our Saturday veterinarian–she has been with the practice for many years. She has several animals, as well as 2 children.
