Dr Tan has a strong interest in holistic veterinary medicine and is a member of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association. She emphasizes on the integration of traditional Chinese veterinary medicine with modern western medicine. She completed her training in small animal and equine acupuncture through the Chi Institute in Florida, and currently pursues additional studies to become a certified Chinese herbalist.

Dr. Urbanz attended Auburn University where she received a degree in both Zoology and Veterinary Medicine. She then completed a fellowship at the Scott-Ritchey Research Center in veterinary medical studies. Dr. Urbanz completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at University of Minnesota. Dr. Urbanz joined the residency program at Eye Care for Animals in 1999 and became a board certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists in 2002.

Not only do we have an overpopulation problem in Arizona, but by not spaying and neutering your animals, they are at an increased risk of testicular, mammary and ovarian cancer, as well as a life-threatening condition called pyometra (an infected uterus). In addition to the health benefits, pets that are sterilized are generally less likely to run away, behave badly and urine mark inappropriately.
