At SNIFFERS Doggie Retreat, we make overnight boarding easy – whether you need care for one night, a week-long vacation, or any period of time.

We offer different overnight boarding options ranging from a traditional crate to spacious suites, so that you can choose what best fits your dog’s needs. We will administer any medications, except injectables, during our normal feeding times (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) at no additional cost. Medications administered outside of breakfast, lunch, and dinner, will be an additional $2 fee. To maintain the digestive health of our guests, we ask that you provide the food they will eat during their stay at SNIFFERS Doggie Retreat. All dogs have access to water 24 hours a day.
You can rest easy while your dog is with us. SNIFFERS Doggie Retreat is staffed 365 days a year to ensure the best level of care for your dog(s). We treat all dogs like family. Each dog will receive individual care by our certified staff and have a clean, comfortable place to sleep.

Experience through the years has taught us that just like people, different pets have different needs. Your pet will have many choices in accommodations here at Waggin’ Tails Junction. Your pet’s age, activity level, overall health, and personality will help select the best place for its visit.

There are several options for our canine passengers including the upper and lower Coach Class with double-decker runs, First Class Luxury Suites, 6’x8′ rooms, “Engine-Engine Number Nine” for visitors 9 lbs and under or 9 yrs or older who have special needs.

The Kitty Kaboose offers our feline passengers a private Condo Lounge Car and a play area for stretching, napping, or just watching the dogs play through the window. Your cat will enjoy the purr-fect pampering it deserves.

Our climate-controlled building assures your pet will never be too hot or too cold in the building. Your dog will get plenty of fresh air and sunshine during its three daily exercise periods on the observation deck. The spacious area is surrounded on three sides with sliding glass doors and windows with screens that are opened wide on pretty days. Even on inclement days, the skylights provide a cheerful environment for enjoying visits with fellow passengers.

The dogs are supervised while on the porch by a porter who rotates them from the porch to one of our outside yards while they are waiting for their inside kennels to be cleaned. It assures each dog gets individual attention while also affording mental and physical exercise.
The Pets-On-Track selections provide extra amenities for your pet that are offered in the early afternoon.

Our Chew-Chew Café strives to cater to the individual needs of the passengers. Primarily we feed two times a day. We stock Regal Lamb Bites, Regal Adult Bites, and Regal Lean Bites and a variety of canned selections.

You may bring your own food for your dog, but please bring only enough for the number of days the dog will be kenneled. No special containers please. We have food containers that stack and when there are 80 dogs to feed, we can organize the feeding so that it is neat, clean and accessible.

We charge only for medications that are not administered with a meal, like ear or eye drops. Please label all medications with your pet’s name, brand and instructions.

Our travelers enjoy their own bed during the trip. Coach Class has raised platforms or cots with bedding, “Mutt Mats” a popular choice. Elderly dogs have thick bedding with the special senior insulated mat and rubber floor mats and towels. Suite dogs have a couple choices of cots with plush bedding, bean bag beds, floor towels. Due to the large volume of laundry as we clean the dog’s rooms three time a day; please do not bring bedding from home. Old toys, chewies, biscuits, treats are welcomed and will be distributed to your pet.

Lodging
• We monitor your pet’s eating and potty habits as well as their lodging behavior
• Our credentialed staff is knowledgeable in administering simple medications and performing basic medical care to give you peace of mind while you’re away.
• To avoid stomach upset, we prefer to feed the diet your pet is accustom to at home. If you choose to feed your pet one of our in-house diets, please contact us for brands and availability.

Raw diets will only be accepted in freeze dried form. There are no extra charges for feeding your own food.
• Special bedding is provided for all our guests. We offer cots, cuddle tubs, soft blankets and no slip mats so all our guests are comfortable and snuggly.

About Our Dog Boarding Runs
We have private, spacious, indoor lodging with outdoor patios for dogs. Each pet has their own outside covered patio available to them all day. All dogs are provided with bedding for their comfort during each stay as we make it feel like their home away from home. Have more than one dog staying with us? We are happy to lodge your canine family together at your request! For our feline guests, we have a very quiet, private cattery away from the canine lodging areas.

The Playful Pup and Pampered Pets Incorporated provide supervised open play boarding services and doggy daycare to the DC, Southern Maryland and Northern Virginia area by experienced, caring staff. The resort features private rooms, air conditioning, and both indoor and outdoor play areas. Resort guests receive one on one care and attention from staff as well as participate in staff monitored exercise and socialization time with other dogs throughout the day and evening. The Playful Pup has been Nationally Recognized for Award Winning Customer Service for 4 years through CMUS and won the Washingtonian 2013 Best of in the category of Daycare & Boarding.

On January 2016 we underwent a major renovation in an effort to ensure that our boarding guests enjoy their indoor accommodations as much as their outdoor playtime. Our new Mason kennels have tempered glass fronts for dogs who enjoy more of an open atmosphere.

We also have kennels which are glass with a privacy panel for dogs who prefer a little solitude. Our kennels are extra-large and are climate controlled with heat and air conditioning. Each building has a generator so even in the event of a power outage; we can ensure that our guests remain happy and comfortable.

Bedroom suites: are available for dogs with special needs and/or small “social dogs”. Accommodations include toddler beds, cushy doggie beds and “relaxing music.”

All dogs are handled by loving, attentive, qualified staff most of whom have been with CCK for years. Everyone that works here enjoys being with dogs and treats them as their own.

Our facility is kept immaculate and is disinfected daily. Due to the necessity of handling dogs during their several outings, we are unable to accommodate overly aggressive dogs.

Hereford Bed & Biscuit A full service salon and kennel offering dog grooming and boarding services by skilled professionals. Your dog will be given first class service, which included nails and dewclaw trimming, then bathed and brushed and dried. Open 7 days a week for your convenience.
