Must have Sullivan’s Island dog tag ($25 at city hall). Dogs are allowed off-leash before 10 a.m. It is a ‘dog-park’ atmosphere because many other people have their dogs out as well. Dogs are not aloud on the beach at all between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. so plan on leaving at 10:00. Location: Beach area on Sullivan’s Island. Directions: Take the Ben Sawyer bridge from Mt. Pleasant or take the Isle of Palms connector from Mt. Pleasant and then take the small bridge over the inlet to Sullivan’s Island. It is a very small Island. Turn towards the beach. You can park along the road in most places (be careful of no parking signs).
