While there is not techically a beach area, Gilmore Pond has very clear shallow water and a wonderful sand bottom that will make you think you are in the tropics. You can swim at your own risk but there are no lifeguards on duty. Gilmore Pond has the reputation of being the party/dog beach in town since on a hot Saturday afternoon its very typical to find a large crowd of people drinking on floats in the water. This is illegal and not encouraged since it is a town beach. However, week days tend to be mild in nature and people with dogs flock here.
