Dr. Villar was born in Spain but considers himself a Virginia native, having lived most of his life in Charlottesville. Early on he developed a keen interest in animals, having been in their constant company as a child. His family owned a small farm that at one time or another raised pet horses, cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs, cats, chickens, ducks and let’s not forget his prize winning donkey, Mikey.Dr. Villar pursued his Bachelor’s at the University of Virginia.

Dr. Urbanz attended Auburn University where she received a degree in both Zoology and Veterinary Medicine. She then completed a fellowship at the Scott-Ritchey Research Center in veterinary medical studies. Dr. Urbanz completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at University of Minnesota. Dr. Urbanz joined the residency program at Eye Care for Animals in 1999 and became a board certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists in 2002.

For so many years, ALL STAR PET RESORT has been a cornerstone of the dog and cat community in Torrance, California. Our unique kennel runs provide spacious accommodations; our dual runs allow each pet to run freely between indoors and outdoors in a tural, fresh air environment. The Redondo Beach Dog Park is part of Dominguez Park and is on land leased from the Edison Company. ‘Friends of the Redondo Beach Dog Park, Inc.’ is a not for profit California corporation comprised of a board of directors with elected officers, all volunteers. The purpose of the ‘Friends’ is to raise funds and oversee the day-to-day management of the park. Since the Redondo Beach City Council approved the creation of a dog park in 1992, park patrons have donated over $70,000. These funds went to cleaning up the site (formerly a trash area), adding top soil, grass, sprinklers, fences, benches, water, etc. Our ongoing goal is to expand usage of the dog park to become a place to offer services and to bring people together. Since 1992, literally thousands of dogs (and owners) have enjoyed the park. At various times there are workshops, special events, dog training classes (starting early Spring), low-cost vaccination clinics, and the Pooch-a-rama Adoption Fair on the second Sunday of every month. Almost 250 dogs found homes last year as a result of these adoption fairs. Come join us in enjoying the park and become involved in it’s activities!
