The Bernalillo County Animal Control and Protection Department’s primary responsibility is to protect the safety, health and welfare of the public while enforcing the humane treatment of animals.
The Brookfield Police Department employs one Animal Control Officer who provides numerous services to the city and its residents.
Stray animals picked up by the Animal Control Officers are taken to the Bedford County Animal Shelter located on Falling Creek Road. Manned by County staff, the shelter is an award-winning facility offering separate climate controlled quarters for dogs and cats, puppies and kittens.
It is the goal of Brigham City’s Animal Control to provide service to the citizens and animals of Brigham City through the professional operation of the Animal Shelter and through animal care and control programs.
Animal Services is responsible for enforcing the laws that protect animals, sheltering and returning stray pets to their owners and promoting responsible pet ownership.
The Bullhead City Animal Care & Welfare Facility houses domesticated and stray animals, reunites lost pets with owners and enforces City ordinances pertaining to animals.
The Animal Control Division is responsible for responding to complaints dealing with all types of animals. This service generally concentrates on the dog population of the Town, but is also responsible for complaints dealing with raccoons, deer, trapped wildlife, and other concerns dealing with domestic or wild animals.
The Residence Inn Auburn is pet friendly. They allow up to two pets per room (max 30 lbs). They have a sanitation fee of $75.00 per stay.
Flagship Inn is pet friendly! They welcome two pets with no weight limit for an additional fee of $10 per pet per night. Please note that pets should be supervised and leashed when being walked.

Dogs are allowed on the beach before 8am and after 5pm. Location: Eastern Promenade. Directions: Take Congress Street all the way to the Eastern Promenade, turn right to go down the hill to the water / boat launch area, the beach is right there.
The Residence Inn welcomes multiple pets, of any size, for an additional $100 per stay.
Wooded fenced in dog park. Big wooded fenced in dog park with trails and a special fenced in area for smaller dogs. Location: Ocean Ave. Directions: take 295 to Washington Ave, go straight to Ocean Ave, take right. Dog park is on the left about a mile or so after you turn right.
Spring Point is an off-leash beach located at Fort Rd and Slocum Dr. Be aware that the city may be reducing the off-leash area.
Hilton Garden Inn Portland Downtown Waterfront allows up to two dogs (with a combined weight of 200 lbs or less) per guest room for an additional fee of $50 per stay.
Willard Beach is a public beach less than 5 minutes from Portland. Summer months dogs can run off leash (under voice control) from 7am – 9am. Off season dog are welcome anytime. Between May 1 and September 30, dogs are not allowed except between the hours of 7:00 am and 9:00 am, and 7 pm and 9:00 pm. Dogs are allowed Sept. 30 to May 1st, anytime. Great sandy beach and inviting (cold) water for those swimmers. Dogs love to play and romp on this scenic beach!
