Dr. Vivian Grant has known she wanted to be a veterinarian since she was five years old. She had a teddy bear named ?Ralphie? that took care of her other stuffed animals and she wanted to be just like him when she grew up. Dr. Grant received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago. In 1993 Dr. Vivian Grant graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She practiced mixed animal medicine in Orrville, Ohio until September 1994 when she became an associate veterinarian at Naperville Animal Hospital. In 1998, Dr. Grant became a partner at Naperville Animal Hospital until 2008 when she sold her partnership. At that time she helped take care of her father who had lung cancer that had spread to the bone. Western medicine didn’t help her father?s pain, so Dr. Grant explored options in acupuncture and Chinese herbs. Eastern medicine allowed him a better quality of life until his passing in December 2008. Reflecting on her father?s improvement by means of Eastern medicine, Dr. Grant began to explore how she could advance her animal care by incorporating a more diverse approach to her treatment. The following year she received her certification from the Chi Institute in veterinary acupuncture. She has honed her skills through relief veterinary work as she developed her new integrative veterinary hospital. Dr. Grant is proud to present her full service integrative small/exotic animal hospital.
