The absence of barking dogs is the biggest difference. Excessive barking creates anxiety and stress in other dogs, for this reason we limit the amount of pets in our spa at any one time. Appointments are made as you would do in a hair salon, to allow for that individualized pampering. Calming sound, scent, touch and above all patience is used to help reduce stress during the grooming process. Because we schedule appointments at specific times we are able to offer grooming ‘kennel free.’ No more long days spent in a cage. We strongly encourage you to make arrangements to have your pet picked-up once their session is complete, anywhere from 1 to 3 hours. We do however have a crate in a quiet room where your pet can rest comfortably in the event you run a little behind. Extended Stay Deluxe San Rafael welcomes a maximum of two pets, 50lbs or less, per guest room for an additional $25 per pet, per night; not to exceed $150 per room, per stay.
Pets of any size are welcome for an additional fee of $80 for the first night and $25 for each remaining night.

Dogs are allowed off-leash on fire protection roads in Marin County. Open space areas when under direct and immediate control of a responsible person. Owners must carry a leash at all times. Dogs on trails must be on leash. Dogs at Rush Creek Reserve and Ring Mountain (Tiburon) must be on leash.
Upton Beach is a wide four acre stretch of beach along the coast, north of and adjacent to Stinson Beach. Its uses include sun bathing, fishing, picnicking, surfing, and general beach recreation activities.
