Heaven Can Wait opened Nevada’s first private, non-profit Spay/Neuter Clinic in June 2009. The goal of our clinic is to provide sterilization to 10,000 – 15,000 high-risk animals that otherwise would have been left to continually have litters in the community. This uncontrolled birth rate is responsible for over 30,000 animals a year being killed at our local shelters simply because they run out of room. We will never make a positive impact if we simply continue to try to adopt our way out of this problem. The only solution to reduce the numbers that are impounded and ultimately euthanized is to reduce the birth rate. Our clinic is designed to facilitate efficient, high quality spay/neuter services. The veterinarians, medical and non-medical staff were selected because they are specialized in sterilization services and have demonstrated the compassion and professionalism required in this unique, stressful environment. Four days a week, we offer low-cost and targeted no-cost spay/neuter. At the time of surgery low-cost vaccines are also available for an additional fee. Eligibility is determined using several factors, including the breed of the animal and the financial situation of the owner.
One of A Kind Pet Spay & Neuter Clinic is leading the fight against pet overpopulation and the unnecessary euthanasia of homeless animals in the region. Humane Alliance has been working with communities all over the nation to establish successful and aggressive spay and neuter programs. In communities following the Humane Alliance model, the euthanasia rate at local shelters is reported to decrease by as much as 70% in a just a few years.

In addition, S/Nipped houses a small rescue that aids our county shelter in available space when needed for animal abuse and neglect cases, hoarding seizures and publicly abandoned or surrendered animals. Some of these animals come to the rescue in severe condition and medical treatment to save their lives is necessary.
