Directions: Entrance to Racoon River Park is on the south side of Grand Avenue. Once in the park, turn left, head past the lake toward the softball diamonds. Turn right at the Softball Complex/Beach corner and follow curve in road to the south end of the softball complex. The dog park is behind (south) of the softball diamonds.

Originally Cedar Rapids’ 18 acre fenced playground for dogs Cheyenne Off-Leash Area underwent changes with the flood of 2008. The park featured a 1.5 acre training yard, a one acre small dog yard, and a trail and shelters in the main yard. Since the flood the 1.5 acre training has reopened as the park’s main yard.
