This 11.8 hectare parcel of land is owned by the University of Victoria. It is being reserved for future development of the University, but over recent years it has acted informally as a well known off leash dog park. Other current uses include soil storage and processing by the Facilities Management Department and a forest biology research area. The parcel mainly consists of open field, with remnants of a former orchard. There is fencing around 98% of the park with a couple of openings down into Mystic Vale Hot and dry in summer – bring water Extremely muddy in winter, the dogs seem to love it but you’ll need gumboots. Waste bins are supplied by the university.
When it comes to off leash parks in Victoria, this is by far the most popular, especially when the sun shines. You’ll meet every breed and most are very social.
Once you go past Flemming Beach and Buxton Green to the breakwater it opens up to an off leash paradise for pups and stunning views for their owners. If you want a social gathering head here on a weekday at about 5:30pm and all the locals and their dogs are out. The locals meet on top of the hill but there are 2 looping paths you can walk as well. The inner path is less remarkable but keeps you out of the wind on the days the weather isn’t at it’s best. The outer path is larger and has stunning views. There are also a few trails down to small beaches, for a cool dip. There is no drinking water at this park so bring a water bottle. The pups get thirsty with all the playing.
The two-acre park is fenced using six-foot field fencing, and contains a separately-fenced smaller section for use by small and/or older dogs. Park features include off-street parking, benches, dispensers of biodegradable bags for dog waste, and a small gazebo for shelter on rainy days. The park is open daily from 7 a.m. until dusk. Location: On Mullis Street (off of Spring Street), between Browne’s Home Center and the fire station. Directions: From downtown Friday Harbor, head away from the water on Spring Street. Take a left on Mullis Street. Pass Browne’s Home Center on the left, and look for the park entrance on the left just past Browne’s.
1.7 acre grass dog park. Sequim Dog Park is part of the largest city park in Sequim, Carrie Blake Park. It’s open year-round, from dawn to dusk. Small dog area, dog bags provided, fenced and gated. Location: 202 N. Blake Road, Sequim, Washington, 98382. Directions: Exit highway 101 at Washington (coming from the east) or Sequim Ave (coming from the west). Follow Washingington to Blake and turn north. Drive ~1/3 mile. Enter Carrie Blake Park. Park at the far eastern end of the lot.
Private, protected dog park for dogs under 20 pounds and their owners. ALPPS features a fenced and covered, private, secure park for petite pooches 20 pounds and under. The park also has 2 sunrooms facing the park for Moms and Dads to enjoy. One room is a coffee/reading room with a breakfast nook and fireplace. The other room is an activity/craft room. Off-Leash area with large, tree-lined fenced dog park with water, small dog area, poop bags, and nice trail in lovely park for onleash-walks. Location: Near Hostmark/Caldart intersection (near High School), turn Right on Caldart, to driveway just before new housing development starts. Directions: At Hostmark/Caldart intersection (near High School), turn roughly east up driveway and take R fork. Other fork goes to school district. Dog area is on your right as you enter park. Informal parking area just beyond far end of fenced area.

This is an amazing off-leash area with access to the Fraser River for dogs to swim in. There is 3 large fenced in parks with benches and trees just beside the camping area. The park is very well maintained and there is free poop bags provided.

Gonzales Beach is a large beach that circles Gonzales Bay in the south-eastern section of Victoria. Dogs are allowed on Gonzales Beach 24 hours a day except from June 1 to August 31 when they are not allowed on the beach at all. Dogs must be under control at all times, must be cleaned up after and must be on-leash whenever they are outside of the off-leash area.
