Originally Cedar Rapids’ 18 acre fenced playground for dogs Cheyenne Off-Leash Area underwent changes with the flood of 2008. The park featured a 1.5 acre training yard, a one acre small dog yard, and a trail and shelters in the main yard. Since the flood the 1.5 acre training has reopened as the park’s main yard. Directions: Take 53rd street east until you hit devil’s glen road. Turn right at Devils Glen road and Crow Creek Park is on your left. The dog park is on the north-west side of the park.

Requirements to Purchase a Permit ﾕCurrent dog license from the City of Des Moines or their home jurisdiction ﾕCurrent dog rabies vaccination certification ﾕDog must be no less than four months old ﾕPermits and tags pertain to specific dogs, not the dog park and therefore cannot be transferred to other dogs or dog owners.

Directions: Entrance to Racoon River Park is on the south side of Grand Avenue. Once in the park, turn left, head past the lake toward the softball diamonds. Turn right at the Softball Complex/Beach corner and follow curve in road to the south end of the softball complex. The dog park is behind (south) of the softball diamonds.
