The absence of barking dogs is the biggest difference. Excessive barking creates anxiety and stress in other dogs, for this reason we limit the amount of pets in our spa at any one time. Appointments are made as you would do in a hair salon, to allow for that individualized pampering. Calming sound, scent, touch and above all patience is used to help reduce stress during the grooming process. Because we schedule appointments at specific times we are able to offer grooming ‘kennel free.’ No more long days spent in a cage. We strongly encourage you to make arrangements to have your pet picked-up once their session is complete, anywhere from 1 to 3 hours. We do however have a crate in a quiet room where your pet can rest comfortably in the event you run a little behind. Point Isabel Dog Owners organized the off leash dog park on 23 acres along the San Francisco Bay over twenty years ago. The park is managed and maintained by East Bay Regional Park District with the assistance of PIDO. There are restrooms, water stations with hose for rinsing the swimming dogs, a doggie wash building, many waste baskets and a snack bar. The third sunday of each month, PIDO holds a ‘Clean UP’ day distributing litter bags to encourage visitors to pick up after their dog. Bulletin boards in two areas post PIDO notices, postings for lost and found dogs, dogs needing owners and housing for dog owners along with the park rules. PIDO produces a quartly newsletter and pays for the plastic bags that are provided for pooper pick up. Over one million visitors enjoy the spectacular views while their canine friends release their energy swimming and socializing off leash. Dogs must be in voice control at all times and aggressive behavior is not tolerated. A telephone is permanently located in the western end of the parking lot to notify park police if needed.
