The Animal Care and Control Office are located on the County landfill at 512 Landfill Rd. just east of Boone off US 421. Normal working hours for Officers are Monday thru Friday – 8:00am-4:30pm. The Watauga Humane Society and Watauga Animal Control have merged. If you have an animal to turn in please contact the Watauga Humane Society at 828-264-7865. All animals are now house at the Watauga Humane Society located at 312 Paws Way, Boone, NC. Humane Society hours are Tuesday-Friday 12:30pm-6:00pm, Saturday and Sunday 12:30pm-5:00pm.
