East Coast Asian Dog Rescue, Inc.(E.C.A.D.R., Inc.) was established to rescue Pekingese, Pugs, Japanese Chins, Shih Tzus, and other toy/small Asian breeds from kill shelters, abusive situations, and voluntary surrenders. Unlike most breed rescues, E.C.A.D.R., Inc. will accept mixes into the program if they visually have a dominant feature of one of the Asian breeds. We place these dogs in foster homes until permanent homes can be found and ensure that each of the dogs in our care is healthy, neutered or spayed, and up-to-date on all vaccinations.

We are a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and re-homing of Shih Tzu who have been abused, neglected, abandoned, unwanted or have owners unable to care for them. We provide them with a loving and safe environment as well as medical care. In addition, we match them with responsible owners who will provide proper love, care, and a forever home. We also seek to promote responsible dog ownership by educating and creating public awareness of the breed and issues such as, but not limited to, dog/owner behavior, spay/neuter, vaccinations, heartworm preventatives, regular vet care, good nutrition, and regular grooming. Although we focus on the Shih Tzu breed, we care about all dogs and may have the opportunity to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home other companion dogs in need.

Northstar Shih Tzu Rescue (NSSTR) is an all-volunteer, 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to Shih Tzu and Shih Tzu blend dogs.

SASS Rescue is a group of individuals that rescue Shih Tzu from a variety of situations all over the country such as high kill shelters to owner surrenders. We love and care for them in our own homes until a suitable permanent home is found. By having the dogs in our homes it enables us to better help you select the right dog for your family. Our goal is that our dogs will be in a loving home for the rest of their lives.

ALL Creatures Matter Rescue is here to help small breed dogs in need and ensure they get the care they deserve and are placed with loving families. I am very concerned about the welfare of these animals; therefore, an application and references will be required for adoption. All pets will have a non-refundable adoption fee and will be fully vetted. They will be spayed or neutered before leaving the rescue. We don’t want to contribute to the pet over-population and to the killing of innocent animals. ACM exists to save the lives of animals in need and depends upon donations, adoptions, and volunteers to exist.
