Australian Cattle Dog

Australian Cattle Dog Placement is a sister organization of the non-profit dog rescue organization, Pacific Coast Dog Rescue. We strive to ensure, the most careful and appropriate placement for our dogs into loving homes.

Rescue, rehabilitate and rehome cattledogs and other herding breeds in need, mostly from underserved areas of California; assist with networking of these dogs so hopefully more cattledogs are rescued and on their way to a better life. Aid in education about the breed for owners and prospective owners and provide resources and referral to trainers, classes and activities suitable for the breed so that problems are solved or prevented which means less cattledogs in shelters in need of rescue. Aid in rehoming cattledogs from private owners when possible; Build a community of support and concern for the plight of cattledogs in shelters with ways to volunteer to help the cause; give an overview of what rescue is and how complex and difficult it can be and how every single person who contributes in any small way makes a difference; share the many enjoyable aspects of cattledogs and their abilities and the many jobs and activities they do.

Many animals, including a large number of Australian Cattle Dogs and Cattle Dog mixes, are given up every year in Fairbanks. Unlike many other breeds, ACDs usually have a more difficult time dealing with the loss of their families. Cattle Dogs are a very particular breed because they bond so closely with their people. When they must be rehomed, they often need a loving, understanding transitional environment, and the new owners may need some extra help knitting these dogs into their families. That’s where Know The Truth And Be Heeler’d Australian Cattle Dog Rescue comes in. We provide another alternative when you must give your heeler away. We are able to work with the dogs in our rescue, training them, reassuring them, and letting them bloom into the wonderful animals that they are, so that they will have a greater chance at finding their forever home. Owners, we can also work with you and help you through training and behavior problems, so that you can keep your most loyal friend in your home.

THAT’LL DO . .AGAIN’S mission is to help endangered and needy herding breed dogs find loving homes and to provide ongoing support , training, and fun activities for adopters & their furkids.

Central Coast Border Collie Rescue (CCBCRescue) is dedicated to helping find homes for Border Collies, Australian Shepherds, Australian Cattle Dogs/Queensland Heelers and other herding breeds and mixes. This site lists dogs in shelters as well as dogs in homes and foster care, and is intended to help adopters seeking good dogs, and dogs seeking loving homes. Why we do it:Herding dogs are not for every one. Too many adopters get these dogs as status symbols only to find out, their life style doesn’t meet these high energy dogs needs. As a result, these wonderful misunderstood dogs wind up in shelters. We understand what drives these dogs, we can place them appropriately. Our mission is to educate people and save dogs. We do it because we love these dogs, with a little effort, can give them a good new life. Euthanasia is not the solution to out animal overpopulation issue. Education is.

We are a small rescue specializing in herding breeds, particularly Border Collies. we pull dogs from the southeast that are on death row and literally have just hours. We take dogs of all ages, and do not turn down dogs that are ill or heartworm positive. I rescued a border collie 3 yrs ago from a shelter, and that led to the discovery that there were many in shelters. I have property to keep dogs on, and wanted to help them, so here we are today. We have a network of about 8 fosters. The dogs are given basic training, house manners, leash trained, crate trained, housebroken, and vetted. We try very carefully to match dogs with people to diminish returns, and we do indeed have few returns.
