DHS was formed in 2008 in Northeast Louisiana to help rescue and rehome neglected and abandoned animals, educate the public on the importance of spay/neuter and compassionate animal care and to promote adoption. We also work to provide services, such as affordable rabies and spay/neuter clinics that are not available in our area as we lack a shelter, animal control or another animal welfare group. Improving the lives of animals, improves our community.
