Manistee County Humane Society / Homeward Bound Animal Shelter
SheltersThe Manistee County Humane Society, more known as Homeward Bound Animal Shelter is a local animal welfare organization that was formed in the late 1970’s by a group of Manistee County citizens. For its first 25 years, MCHS operated without a physical facility. In April 2005, Homeward Bound Animal Shelter opened its doors to provide shelter and care for the homeless pets of Manistee County. Homeward Bound Animal Shelter does not euthanize animals because of time or space. As a designated no-kill shelter, we are committed to finding homes for each animal for as long as it takes. We help to find homes for approximately 400 animals each year.
