Red Dog Rescue is a non-profit rescue organization who’s mission is to help save dogs that are found abandoned, neglected, and helpless, at immediate risk of euthanasia.

Red Dog Rescue pulls most of their dogs from high-kill shelters across the USA. Dogs are either brought into the shelter as a stray, or turned in by their owner. They can be turned in for a variety of reasons from not being able to afford for their care, to moving. Many dogs that are found as a stray by a good samaritan are brought into the shelter but are considered ‘owner surrenders’. The dogs are then given 72-hours (3 days) or less to be claimed by their owner, tagged by a rescue or adopted out. If there is no movement within the 3 days the dog will be at immediate risk of euthanasia. This includes perfectly happy and healthy dogs.
