Now that spring is here, it is an excellent idea to explore the great outdoors. Whether you want to run in the park, jog in the neighborhood, or hike up a hill, these breeds make excellent companions.
Standard Poodles love to hike and swim. They are agile and athletic. FYI: This breed has ‘webbed feet’ as they were bred to retrieve fowl from the water after brought down in flight by their masters.

Labrador Retrievers love water, hiking, and hunting. They are very active and have high energy.
German Wirehaired Pointers are active and can retrieve on both land and water.
Curly-Coated Retrievers are athletic and physical, and have a gentle and patient disposition.
Greyhounds are known to be runners. Their calm demeanor and gentle disposition also make them an ideal family pet.
Alaskan Malamutes and Siberian Huskies can go the distance. They love the outdoors and love to run.
Vizslas and Wire coated Vizslas are light on their feet and they don’t mind hotter temperatures. They are an active that require a lot of exercise activity.
Rhodesian Ridgebacks were originally bred to hunt lions. Their shiny coat and stamina make this breed ideally suited for hot temperatures.
Border Collies were originally used to herd reindeer. Known to be a very active high energy breed, they require long daily walks/runs.
